1. Setup
Slice the tomato. Detach the romaine leaves form the heart. Slice the onion into half moon. Chop the bacon.
2. Mix the mayonnaise
Mix the mayonnaise with the spices. Add pepper to taste. Put the onion in a bowl with the buttermilk and let soak until step 5.
3. Make the patties
Mix the beef with the bacon, salt and pepper. Make 1 patty per person.
4. Cook the patties
Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 6-8 minutes on each side or until it's cooked through. Add a slice of cheese on each patty and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from the pan. Wipe the pan.
5. Fry the onion pieces
Put the flour in a bowl. Add salt and pepper. Put the onions in the flour and coat each piece. Add a generous drizzle of oil to cover the bottom of the pan on medium heat. Fry the onion pieces for 2-3 minutes until colored. Put on a paper towel.
6. Plate your dish
Heat the buns to taste. Garnish with the mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, patty and fried onions. Bon appétit!
