Scalloped Potatoes

with sharp cheddar and arugula salad

1. Setup Preheat the oven to 400°F. Very thinly slice the potatoes and onion. Use a mandoline if you have one. Peel and crush the garlic.
2. Cook the potatoes Place the milk, cream and garlic in a large saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil. Add the onion, potatoes, salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Bake in the oven Transfer everything to a baking dish. Bake in the oven for 40-42 minutes. Add the cheddar on top 10 minutes before the end of cooking.
4. Make the salad Thinly slice the tomato and cucumbers. Mix with the arugula, a drizzle of oil, salt and pepper.
5. Plate your dish Serve the potatoes with the salad. It is possible to leave everything in the center of the table and let everyone help themselves. Bon appétit!
