1. Adjust the steps of the recipe for your children
2. Setup
Preheat oven to 375°F. Cut the bread into small cubes.
3. Cook the pudding
In a big bowl, mix the bread pieces with the milk, eggs, spices (to taste) and half of the vanilla. Grease a baking dish and pour in the bread mixture. Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
4. Make the glaze
In another bowl, whisk the icing sugar with the leftover vanilla, the cream cheese and 2-3 tbsp of water. If needed, add more water until you get a glaze consistency.
5. Roast the nuts
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Roast the nuts for 3-4 minutes. Add the maple syrup, cook 30 seconds and remove from the pan.
6. Plate your dish
Serve the bread pudding and garnish with the pecans and the icing.
