1. Adjust the steps of the recipe for your children
2. Setup
Chop the onion, garlic, and cilantro. Cut the potatoes into cubes.
3. Cook the potaoes
In a pot of water, add the potatoes. Cook 10-12 minutes. Drain and reserve.
4. Cook the beef
In a saucepan, add a drizzle of olive oil. Cook the beef for 3-4 minutes, leaving it in large pieces for a good caramelization. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the pot and set aside.
5. Assemble
In the same pot, add a drizzle of olive oil. Add the onions, the garlic and the spice blend. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the tomato paste, the diced tomatoes and the kidney beans, drained. Bring to a boil. Add the beef and lower the heat. Cover and simmer 10-15 minutes.
6. Plate your dish
Serve the chili with the potatoes. Garnish with the sour cream, the cheddar cheese and the chopped cilantro. Bon appetit!
