As each year ends, I find myself engulfed in the excitement of the festive season, eagerly awaiting its arrival. Why such enthusiasm? It’s because holiday culinary delights hold a special place in my gastronomic world. Throughout the year, I dream of the flavours and textures that bring our celebratory meals to life. At Cook it, we’ve poured our hearts into creating a collection of recipes crafted for these magical moments. After careful consideration, here are my top culinary picks to brighten your table for the week of December 17th.

Seafood sandwich cake with nordic shrimps, smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber, dill and lemon

Discover our culinary reinterpretation of the classic seafood sandwich, a true star of festive tables. At Cook it, opinions are divided: there are those who can’t live without it and those who shun it. But this year, we’ve decided to innovate with a version that will, hopefully, win over even the most skeptical. Imagine a delicious seafood sandwich, but not just any sandwich. We’ve generously filled it with a selection of seafood. On the menu: a creamy, seasoned Nordic shrimp salad accompanied by top-quality smoked salmon. We’ve added finely sliced hard-boiled eggs, garnished with radish and cucumber for a touch of freshness. It’s a burst of flavours that awakens the senses and celebrates the richness of the sea. Perfect for a festive brunch or as a sophisticated starter, this seafood sandwich promises a delightful taste experience. Let yourself be tempted by this creation.

Brie and cranberry grilled Cheese with arugula, apple and walnut salad

Indulge in our Brie and Cranberry Grilled Cheese, a quick and comforting delight. The melting and creamy brie cheese pairs perfectly with the gentle tartness of cranberries, adding a festive touch to this classic sandwich. Accompanied by a crunchy salad of arugula, apples, and Grenoble walnuts, this Grilled Cheese strikes the perfect balance between indulgence and freshness. This dish is an ideal solution for a quick dinner after a busy day, offering a satisfying meal in less than 15 minutes. Whether it’s for a cozy break during your holiday shopping or a light meal, this Grilled Cheese is sure to delight your taste buds.

Crispy panko french toast and scrambled eggs with maple syrup and bacon

For me, brunch recipes are synonymous with festive moments, especially during the holiday season. There’s something truly special about enjoying a delicious brunch for dinner, a tradition I particularly cherish during this time. This recipe combines the softness of rich and creamy scrambled eggs with the unexpected crunch of panko-coated French toast. It’s a culinary revelation that will forever change your way of preparing French toast. The panko adds a unique texture that beautifully contrasts with the softness of the bread. I can already imagine myself savouring this brunch plate while watching my favourite Ciné-Cadeau shows on Télé-Québec.

Don’t forget to visit our pantry section, where you will find the recipe for our Mocaccino Christmas Log this week. I must admit that I outdid myself with this creation and am extremely proud to present it to you. Not only is it deliciously tasty, but it’s also surprisingly easy to make. I have detailed each step to make it easier for you. If you’ve never dared to prepare your own Yule Log, now is the perfect time to try it. Read the article here to discover how to bring this festive delicacy to life.

As the year draws to a close, I share these recipes with a sense of accomplishment and pride. Each one has been crafted to delight your taste buds and bring warmth and joy to your celebrations. Whether for a cozy brunch, a quick lunch, or a festive dinner, these dishes reflect our passion for cooking and our commitment to making every meal special. At Cook it, we are thrilled to be a part of your festivities and hope these recipes will help make your time with family and friends even more memorable. Happy Holidays, and bon appétit!
